Daily Update: April 4, 2020

Key Developments

More than 90 U.S. Navy ships are deployed globally, none have COVID-19 cases on board.  Navy commands/units/ships that do have COVID-19 cases are mitigating the spread aggressively in accordance with CDC guidelines.

As of today, 44% of the USS Theodore Roosevelt crew were tested for COVID-19, with 155 positive cases so far.  1,548 Sailors have moved ashore.  As testing continues, the ship will keep enough Sailors on board to sustain essential services and sanitize the ship in port.  There have been zero hospitalizations.

A U.S. Department of Navy civilian died March 23 and posthumously tested positive for COVID-19. He died at age 66 at his home near London, United Kingdom.
