STRAIT OF GIBRALTAR (March 31, 2015) The Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser USS Vicksburg (CG 69) escorts the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) as they pass the Rock of Gibraltar while transiting the Strait of Gibraltar. Theodore Roosevelt deployed from Norfolk and will execute a homeport shift to San Diego at the conclusion of deployment. Theodore Roosevelt is conducting naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe.
