Fort Worth Joins the Fleet – Watch Live!

Join us this Saturday Sept. 22 for USS Fort Worth’s commissioning ceremony LIVE on Livestream at 11:00 a.m EST.

The ship is named for Fort Worth, Texas, the 17th largest city in the United States and the 5th largest city in Texas. The first Navy ship to bear the name and the second in the Freedom variant of the littoral combat ship, Fort Worth, is outfitted with reconfigurable mission packages, which can be changed out quickly, and focus on three mission areas: mine countermeasures, surface warfare and anti-submarine warfare.

In addition to her three primary warfare missions, the ship’s inherent capabilities and suitability to conduct lower-end missions will free up more expensive, multi-mission cruisers and destroyers to conduct higher-end missions.
