Right now your Navy is 100% on watch around the globe helping to preserve the American way of life.  Whether it be operating and training in the waters off the coast of Virginia or forward deployed to the South China Sea, the flexibility and presence provided by our U.S. naval forces provides national leaders with great options for protecting and maintaining our national security and interests around the world.   The imagery below highlights the Navy’s ability to provide those options by operating forward.

PACIFIC OCEAN - An F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron 22 launches from the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70).
ARABIAN GULF - Guided-missile destroyer USS Stethem (DDG 63) transits the Arabian Gulf at night. Stethem is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
ATLANTIC OCEAN - The flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) is quiet under the glow of the 'super moon', the largest full moon of the year.
ATLANTIC OCEAN - The guided-missile destroyer USS Farragut (DDG 99) transits the Atlantic Ocean.
