Your Navy TODAY (Mar. 5, 2012)

On any given day, in your Navy, our team of more than 600,000 professional Sailors and Civilians are working together around the globe to perform our mission: deter aggression and, if deterrence fails, win our Nation’s wars. It is not possible to share every aspect of this global team but, through this blog, we offer you a glimpse of what these men and women do.

Six Iranian mariners were aboard the dhow when it capsized. Firebolt recovered one survivor and the remains of three decreased mariners. The two other mariners are presumed lost at sea. Firebolt and Maui are assigned to Commander, Task Force 55, supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
