Reducing Administrative Distractions Round 2 Launched

Reducing Administrative Distractions Round 2 was officially launched May 15. Participation is open to all Sailors, active and Reserve, and Navy civilians and it provides an opportunity for you to continue to share with us your thoughts and ideas on what administrative distractions affect your quality of work and provide us what you think are possible solutions. You can do all of this by establishing an account and logging onto https://navyrad.ideascale.com.

In addition, by logging into the IdeaScale website, you will have the opportunity to read other Sailors’ and civilians’ suggestions, comment on them and vote on them, as well as see what we are working on and what we have accomplished from your suggestions from RAD Round 1.  As an example, we are currently working on reducing General Military Training requirements and converting all maintenance, material and management (3M) functions to software that can be utilized on a laptop or tablet.

Admittedly, this isn’t as easy as it should be. As a result of recent cyber attacks to our networks, security measures have been established and you will need to first register for an account and log onto the IdeaScale website from a .mil address. But once you have registered, you can create a password and subsequently can log on via any personal home device without a CAC.  I know those of you aboard ships or submarines at-sea have limited computer terminals and bandwidth, so we appreciate whatever opportunity you may have to get the access you need to visit the IdeaScale webpage.

RAD presents all of us with a unique opportunity to continue to provide input for corrective courses of action in the reduction of our administrative distractions. And with your support, we will work our hardest to enable a Navy=wide culture change for you to focus first and foremost on “Warfighting First.”
