MCPON Hosts First All Hands Call on Facebook

Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy Michael D. Stevens joined U.S. Navy Facebook fans for a live chat Thursday afternoon. During the 45 minute conversation, MCPON was asked a number of questions about important topics such as CPO365, sequestration, tuition assistance and uniforms. If you missed the opportunity to chat with MCPON, you can catch up with the conversation below or follow him on his official Facebook page.

Shipmates,

I was extremely proud to have the opportunity through Facebook to communicate with Sailors, family members, and retirees yesterday.

The level of participation in the event provides me with great humility and reinforced that the Internet is a viable tool to use in order to help leverage communication with you, your families, and the American public.  It was an event I will not soon forget and a first of what I hope to be several more engagements using the power of technology.

The level of questions received was on par with the best face-to-face all hands call.  Please see a review below of the event as it unfolded.

Thank you all for the honor to answer your questions, because it is truly a privilege to be able to communicate and address your concerns.  Continue to trust and have confidence in each other to successfully carry out our missions and effectively support the CNO’s Sailing Directions and tenets of Warfighting First, Operate Forward, and Be Ready.

Continue to work hard, stay out of trouble, and be good and decent people.  I’ll see you in the Fleet.

V/r,

MCPON
