Your Navy TODAY – MCPON Addresses Sailors in Yokosuka; USS Cape St. George Practices VBSS Exercises

Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) Rick D. West addresses chief petty officers (CPO) and CPO board eligible first class petty officers after an early morning run at Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka. West conducted a two-day visit to Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka as part of a tour of the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility.

Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Electrical) 2nd Class James Ramsay climbs a caving ladder during a visit, board, search and seizure exercise aboard the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Cape St. George (CG 71). Cape St. George is deployed as part of the Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility conducting maritime security operations, theater security cooperation efforts and support missions as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

NEW ORLEANS (NNS) — The people of New Orleans and visitors to the city will be able to tour 11 ships from six nations that arrived in New Orleans April 17, to participate in the War of 1812 Bicentennial Commemoration and “Star Spangled Banner” Navy Week 2012.

Columbus Visits Yokosuka during Western Pacific Deployment

YOKOSUKA, Japan (NNS) — Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine USS Columbus (SSN 762) arrived at Fleet Activities Yokosuka April 19 for a visit as part of its deployment to the western Pacific.
